Expanding Capacity at Finca Chocolat: A Small but Mighty Addition

At Finca Chocolat, progress often comes in unassuming packages. While it may not win any beauty contests, our latest addition — a sturdy new-to-us storage container — is a game-changer for our operations. This unassuming container will allow us to store up to 20 tons of cacao at a time, significantly streamlining our workflow when preparing shipments for export.

Finding the right container was no small feat. We’ve been on the hunt for the past six plus months, weighing options and logistics. As luck would have it, a neighbor just around the corner put this one up for sale at a reasonable price. The timing couldn’t have been better. Instead of incurring the cost of transporting one all the way from Belize City, we were able to focus our efforts on building a solid foundation and getting it operational.

This container is more than just a practical solution; it represents a crucial step forward as we scale up production and deepen our collaboration with neighboring farms. Every improvement, big or small, brings us closer to our goal of making Finca Chocolat a hub for sustainable, high-quality cacao production.

Here’s to progress—one step (or container) at a time!
