BelTraide invited Finca Chocolat to participate in the LAC Flavors conference in Manaus, Brazil and we were honored to be among 4 companies representing Belize. The 24-hour travel time each way was the only downside to the trip. Serious buyers from around the world attended and were ready to cut deals.
We were able to establish excellent contact with European and N American buyers and started a conversation with a Mexican company about putting in a freeze-dried powders plants in southern Belize. We had already sold the vast majority of our cacao for the 2024 season by the time the conference happened but started talks about pre-orders for 2025 with numerous buyers.
We probably won’t be making the trip back to the Amazon anytime soon but it was a worthwhile trip and we were glad to be representing Belize’s agricultural producers.
