As we plant the last of our Salmwood trees, we mark the end of another successful planting season at Finca Chocolat. This year, we’ve added 15,000 cacao trees and 5,000 hardwoods to the farm—each one a step toward building a thriving, sustainable ecosystem.
The Rhythm of Growth
Every tree we plant is part of a long-term vision. Over the next few years:
🌱 Our Salmwood trees will grow to provide the perfect shade canopy, allowing us to introduce more cacao beneath their protective cover in about three years.
🍫 Our cacao trees will take root, strengthen, and begin producing pods in four years, contributing to a growing demand for high-quality, sustainable chocolate.
This is an annual cycle for us at Finca Chocolat, but no matter how many seasons pass, the feeling remains the same—there’s nothing quite like standing in the fields, watching new life take shape!
