It has been months in the making, literally as these units are hand made in the U.S. per our specifications but our distillation equipment to produce Lemongrass oil finally arrived today! It will be another 45-60 days until we have the facility complete and everything set up but this is an exciting day for us on the farm.
Producing lemongrass oil will allow Finca Chocolat to use some areas of the farm that are unsuitable for cacao thereby maximizing revenue per acre and aligns with our focus of high value non-perishable products. There is a good size local market in Belize that we anticipate being able to service and once we have worked out our production process we will begin exporting to N America as well.
